Enjoy the birds eye view photos of Palm islands in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, which are the three largest artificial islands in the world. The islands have been commissioned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in order to increase Dubai’s tourism and designed as palm trees.

Nice to see my office on haha.nu. Work right next to the road leading up to the first palm island.
Oh and ’secomav’ I my view rather spend anyone’s money on building islands than military jets, bombs and other war material.
Are you saying the same thing about the dutch reclaimed land or is that different in your eyes?

Sooner than you think, the global warming and the raising level of the oceans will swallow all these islands.

Dubai doesn’t make money from oil; it accounts for less than 10% of the GDP of the emirate. Most of the money in Dubai is the result of the Jebel Ali Free Zone.

Funny to see the ignorance of people convinced Dubai is awash with oil money, and this is how it’s spent.
Petroleum and natural gas account for THREE percent of their economy:

Much of the property in Dubai is bought up by European investors buying vacation homes in Dubai for the year-round good weather.
Even more, Dubai has become a huge place for corporations to shelter their money… why do you think Dick Cheney’s own Halliburton moved their headquarters there?
The real horror of Dubai is how they pay and treat all the immigrant labor there… it’s truly terrible, I’ve seen it first hand.
