World’s longest insect

Measuring more than half-a-metre, what is described as the world’s longest insect has gone on display at the Natural History Museum, London. At 56.6cm, the Phobaeticus chani (Chan’s megastick) beats the previous record holder, another stick-insect, by more than one centimetre.
