The Bel Geddes Airliner #4

Bookmark and Share
Tuesday, November 13th, 2007.

This giant flying machine is a proposal of Norman Bel Geddes in 1929 as a transatlantic airliner. A comparison with Boeing 747-400 is given. While technical data surely is not impressive (1929’s techs), but for comfort… Airliner #4 offers a library, 9 decks, 2 public dining rooms, 4 deck tennis courts, 6 shuffle board, solariums, barber shop, 2 bars… And calculated in the time, it was still economically reasonable.
