Yes, this definitely is one of the better ones.

If you zoom in real close (right-click+scroll with the Firefoxe extension) you can see that it’s the grey lines next to the black ones that hold the image. They vary in tone as you go along.

I can’t imagine how they did it, though. Perhaps they created a fairly large pixel size image, then sliced it in ribbons with some app (like paper would come out a shredder) and alternated each ribbon of pixels with one white and one black line. That’s how I’d have a go at it if I’d know which app to use.

Fairly amazing. I’ve decided I like the mystery of not knowing how this was acomplished. I’ve never been able to “see” those so-called “magic eye” picture — you know, the ones you have to squint to distinguish? — so I’m delighted to have seen this image clearly. If my memory of grade school holy cards serves, I believe this was the Sacred Heart of Christ, non?

that is so weird! how did they do that? I bet the thickness of the lines varies slightly here and there… but I can’t see it any variations when I look up close….
