haha.nu.update 090306 – Bring haha.nu to 2009

Dear haha.nu-ers,

This one is probably the biggest update since the beginning of haha.nu. As you already might noticed, changes are rolling out these days in small portions, and I will try to summarize them here. Do you like this update? Give us a vote please .

Standard layout

The original layout is remade entirely, with the excellent Blueprint CSS framework, to be as compatible as possible with any major browsers. That makes finally the pain-in-the-eyes buggy IE 6 works fine too. Also everything you see in the sidebar is widgetized, allowing us to add/remove/move things around with ease. This change is probably not so visible, because we try to keep the original layout/colors as much as possible, but it probably required the biggest changes in term of the underlaying platform.

Tabs widget

Talking about widgets, the sidebar was heavily redesigned too. The old Most Rated, Highest Rated, Recent posts and the Archive calendar sections are now moved to this space-saving tabs.

Restructured categories

We had the categories redone too, making the ones that started with “_” into tags, and moving the old categories to have a more logical order.

Tag cloud

Tag cloud is a new (and beautiful way) to explore around haha.nu’s tags and categories. You can find it in the new sidebar.

Another great way to discover haha.nu’s content is available now at every post we make. A list of posts, related to the current one you are viewing, is available with their scores of ‘relateness’. This functionality is provided by the excellent work of mitcho.

Follow us, easily

All social networking stuff with haha.nu is now available in this updated section of the sidebar, so you have now no excuses to add us as friend .

It is not done, yet
