I also originally thought that to overtake the last person you must be first. That would be “lapping”. However, technically anyone who isn’t last could “lap” the person in last place. So technically first could be correct, and penultimate could be correct, as well as anywhere inbetween.

with regards to water in the jugs, make sure the barrel is empty, then pour the water from the jugs in.

The simplest answer is always the best.

With regards to the race, you overtake the last person, you are in first.

No Hampo argent it specifically says you cant use the jugs.

I agree with Bryces answer, Dye the water then freeze it then place ice in the barrel.

I have one objection about the 9th answer.
9. If you answered that you are second to last, then you are wrong again. Tell me, how can you overtake the LAST person?!
It depends from the type of the race. If the rae is inside a stadium and is log distance race, than the participants run in circles and it is possible that the first person is so good that managed to run one whole lap ahead of the lkast person. In that case if you are passing the LAST person you are indeed the FIRST one.
