Skulls everywhere

Friday, February 6th, 2009.

Thanks to Michel Tann for this collection, taken probably from some illustration book (who is the author, do you know?). And if the skulls are not so visible, check the thumbnail in the end to see that they actually are there.

What’s also interesting about these skull drawings is that each one (or almost) has some sort of ship/nautical reference too – perhaps an indictment of the Age of Exploration?

Actually, there’s a ship on each image. Some are hard to find, though.

Also, there’s a signature of István Orosz. Maybe the ship is something like his trademark?

hallo, all these pics are from the hungarian painter Istvan Orosz and are illustrations for the old german book “das narrenschyff” (ship of fools) – saludos from Norbert from Germany, who has put many illusion skulls on picasaweb.google.de/jungnor
