Samuel Barber – Adagio for Strings

The most famous piece of the American composer Samuel Barber is performed by BBC Orchestra and conducted by Leonard Slatkin at the Albert Hall in London.

The piece was played at the funerals of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Prince Rainier of Monaco. It was also performed in 2001 at a ceremony at the World Trade Center to commemorate the thousands lost there in the September 11, 2001 attacks.
