Mathematical Knots

The notion of deriving a knot energy by viewing a knot as a radiating tube is due to Gregory Buck of Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. This energy, the symmetric energy has been extensively studied by Buck together with Jonathan Simon from The University of Iowa, and myself. This page is a collection of images visualizing the symmetric energy.
