Chris Jordan aims to represent the vast measures of American society by large detailed photographic prints assembled from many smaller images, which portray a specific quantity of something, for example 106 000 aluminum cans (30 seconds of can consumption), 125 000 one-hundred dollar bills ($ 12,5 million), equal to the amount of American government spends every hour on the war in Iraq, and so on.
