Sand festivals or festivals of sand sculpture are exhibitions of sculptures made of sand carried out in various places around the world. These events usually include a competition.
Traditional sand sculptures are sand castles. However at sand festivals one may see virtually any kinds of sculptures you would expect to see in stone, bronze or wood.
Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia holds World Championships of sand sculpture. Here are the pictures.

It’s not fair. These artists have such great talent, while the rest, like myself have none.
Absolutely fantastic sculptures. It boggles ones mind. Thanks to all contributors.

Fantastic sculptures its a shame they not in something more permanent than sand,if they could be preserved together they would make a fantastic theme park somewhere and perhaps the artists could then get some recompense for their undoubted talent
