The Lotus Temple

Located in New Delhi, India, this architectural wonder is used as a Bahá’í House of Worship, Mother Temple of the Indian Subcontinent for Bahá’í Faith. It has won numerous architectural awards and been featured in hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles. The architect was an Iranian who now lives in Canada, named Fariborz Sahba.
The Bahá’í Faith itself is also an interesting religion. According to Bahá’í teachings, religious history has unfolded through a series of God’s messengers who brought teachings suited for the capacity of the people at their time, and whose fundamental purpose is the same. Bahá’u'lláh is regarded as the most recent, but not final, in a line of messengers that includes Abraham, Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad and others.
