Gotta love Caroline Dhavernas
God I miss Wonderfalls
October 17th, 2006 08:21
Oh, good. I’m not the only one that noticed the first picture.
October 17th, 2006 10:17
jeah. i noticed the first picture too…
October 17th, 2006 15:15
Why must they always touch each other?
NO TOUCHING ALLOWED!
October 17th, 2006 15:53
I think the first picture contains the least similar subjects. I wonder if people that look alike feel a special type of kinship for eachother. They sure look caring touching eachother, I wonder if’s natural or if it’s at the request of the artist (photographer).
October 17th, 2006 16:33
It’s difficult to photograph two people with their faces close together without having them touch in some way.
October 17th, 2006 18:10
It was interesting trying to guess which was the American and which was the European.
October 17th, 2006 19:08
Chris –
The look-alikes are from North America or Europe, but not one of each per pair. Most of the look-alikes are from the same place, it just means he went both to North America and Europe to find subjects.
October 17th, 2006 20:34
is it just me, or…. uh…
aw hell, I’ll just say it:
None of these people look anything alike. They’re just wearing the same clothes!
It’s all a big hoax!
They’re lying to you!
Use your eyes and see the Truth that is right in front of you!
These people don’t look like each other!
…
oh, and also:
“IT’S MADE OUTTA PEOPLE!”
October 18th, 2006 01:10
There should be more people joined by the ears.
October 18th, 2006 01:26
I don’t get the ‘it’ about the first picture. What did people notice about it?
October 18th, 2006 01:42
These people DO NOT look alike. They’re just 2 people with similar hair color head size etc. so what! Waste of time, waste of space. It is a yawn fest bore-a-thon.
October 18th, 2006 03:12
strangely the only ones I thought looked alike were the guy and the girl
October 18th, 2006 03:22
Weird…. The whole thing.
I’d like to have seen the reaction of these people when they met their ‘double’. Do I hear Sitcom Hijinks, anyone?
October 18th, 2006 06:25
Is it the nipple that we’re talking about in the first picture?
October 18th, 2006 07:54
Why doesnt anyone look at the artistic point of view…ok so they dont all look alike but they could easily pass as family.
Some people have nothing better to do then critisis other people…go and have a good look at your own faces!
October 18th, 2006 08:36
This is just the dopleganger theory.
October 18th, 2006 09:12
Are you guys kidding? I thought these pictures were really cool and I totally think they all definitely look alike, maybe not so much photo #1…but as for the rest, you can definitely see HUGE similarities!
October 18th, 2006 09:15
In photo #6 I’d be wicked offended if I were the guy on the right! They don’t look as alike as the others and the guy on the left looks like what the guy on the right MIGHT look like if he became a homeless drunk!
October 18th, 2006 10:06
Eric: You dirty mind! They just noticed that the girl from the right of the first pic looks like Caroline Dhavernas.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0223518/
October 18th, 2006 10:07
yea I agree with Brian on this one..they dont exactly look like identical twins but they do look like siblings or in one picture a dad and son. And I have seen identical twins before. I KNOW them nad I still cant figure out who is who without looking at the numbers on their softball jerseys. When they are playing softball. Otherwise I cant tell at all who is who.
October 18th, 2006 12:09
These were cool. They totally look like eachother. I don’t know wat OM is talking about, ur just plain weird. PLEASE MAKE MORE!
October 18th, 2006 12:14
I think they don’t look like each other, but they’ve got the look of each other. Like it’s been said, they could pass for family. Still cool though.
October 18th, 2006 12:51
I thought the girl on the right in the first picture looked more like Jared Leto than anything. Oh, and I agree with Eric, the first thing I noticed about the pic was her nipple.
October 18th, 2006 13:29
I think these are pretty interesting; I have a friend who looks like me a little bit, and people always think she’s my little sister. Pretty entertaining.
October 18th, 2006 14:38
I Don’t Think They Look That Much Alike But The Way They Are Standing Makes Them Look Like Gay Or Lesbian Couples. Apart From Pic #4 Who Are Heterosexual. Wouldn’t That Be Weird If Your Boyfriend Or Girlfriend Looked Like You?
October 18th, 2006 16:16
WOW amazing ! I want one!
October 18th, 2006 17:44
ooo i like these, they’re so interesting. i liked picking out the differences and similarities. my favorite was the eleventh pic because they look like hot twins or brothers if you don’t think they’re similar enough.
October 18th, 2006 23:40
I like that they’re touching each other. It implies an intimacy that’s also conveyed in their similarities.
October 19th, 2006 12:02
(Sorry for the english community!!)
J’ai adoré ces photos! Je trouve cependant que la fille de gauche ressemble plutôt à la comédienne Sophie Cadieux qu’à Caroline Dhavernas.
October 20th, 2006 05:41
that’s pretty gay
October 20th, 2006 15:51
Fascinating. The big unanswered question is how these two individuals found one another. If one lives in North America and the other lives in Europe, the chances of their meeting up are very tiny indeed. Not all, but most of these individuals bear uncanny resemblances to each other not necessarily physically (height and weight are variables here) — but in demeanor and energy.
Since the couples had no requirements concerning what clothing they wore to the shoot, I wonder if they spoke to each other in advance, or just arrived similarly dressed. The photographer insists he does did nothing to stylize either hair or clothing.
Very, very cool.
October 20th, 2006 19:12
Love the pictures! I would LOVE to meet my double!
October 20th, 2006 23:51
The thing I noticed was that each couple has one major facial feature that is almost identical. In most of them, it’s the eyes. Some, it’s the mouth or nose. Then there are a few that only have similar facial expressions (if they were not both making that face, they would look nothing alike).
In my lifetime, I have met people at different times, from different places who didn’t know each other at all; yet they looked almost exactly alike. So it is definitely possible that everyone has a “twin” out there somewhere. I’m pretty damn sure that I have an evil twin out there (or am I the evil one???)
October 21st, 2006 04:38
That has actually creeped me out completely. Ugh.
October 21st, 2006 09:24
Nipple, schmipple, I’m not buying the photog not dressing these people. Pretty cool, though.
October 21st, 2006 10:37
Why is Noel Edmonds in picture 3?
October 21st, 2006 10:45
i’ve got two friends who’ve both got red hair. when the three of us are together, people keep asking us if we’re triplets.
Just because our hair is the same colour
October 21st, 2006 13:21
Well I know for a fact that several times in my life, people told me they had seen me somewhere, and I was positively not there. I have even seen a Picture of “me” in a magazine, somewhere on a market in France where I had never been. So, yes, look alikes do exist of cours. Besides : they use a lot of look alikes in publicity (royalties, etc…) So there is nothing really new to it.
The fact that these people differ is quite normal too : different ages, different lifestyles, etc… it all leaves it’s mark on how you look in the end…
October 21st, 2006 14:13
Some are being way too critical – it’s called “Look-a-likes” not “Look-Exactly -a-likes”. A-like means similar and these people do have similar features. Of course they’re not going to be identical, but I think it’s very artistic and very interesting.
October 21st, 2006 15:09
I think these photos are beautiful; the second and fourth pictures, given the right treatment, could look almost gothic in the rendering of the subjects’ faces.
The person who wrote “look a likes…not look-exactly-a-likes” is right – the subjects appear to be selected because of a measure of similarity. I would like to think we can appreciate the beauty of the rendering and amazing fact that there are people in this world that are not related by blood but who can look the same. In that vein, I think its a testament that we’re not as different as we would like to think.
Although I would be a bit shocked to meet someone that I resemble.
October 21st, 2006 15:10
My mistake: I seem to be unable to count correctly. I meant pictures 2 and 5.
October 21st, 2006 20:24
I have found that total strangers will sometimes be similarity twins at a certain point in their lives. However, if you take the same pair of people and add or subtract ten years, then they look nothing alike. So you still can’t beat the genetic match of an identical twin.
My compliments to the photographer for delightful and creative portraits of these look-alikes!
October 21st, 2006 22:48
First two didn’t even seem to match expressions. Then there’s the third, where the guy on the left looks like Paul McCartney and the one on the right looks like Charles Manson. The guy and girl at least have the same chin, that big ol’ Texas jut-jaw that Jennifer Aniston also has.
I’ve seen someone in a supermarket who looked a lot like me, but we both just tried to ignore each other…we must have had self-loathing in common.
October 22nd, 2006 14:38
dose any one have the number of the woman in the first picture the one in the right she is incredible looking
October 22nd, 2006 17:37
In courts of law people have been convicted on looks alone, mistaken identity. Any one of these might have fooled a jury.
October 22nd, 2006 20:38
Me and my best friend look ALOT alike. we’re asked if we’re sisters or twins all the time.
October 22nd, 2006 20:45
This is pretty neat. I was at a church fundraiser when some guy walks up to me and says “Good job at the tryouts. You did really well.” I didn’t have a clue what he was talking about. It seems that somebody who looked exactly like me was at a softball tryout. It’s really minda’ weird since we both live in the same town….
October 23rd, 2006 00:18
Impressionnant! Quel phénomène! La rencontre des individus qui participent à cette oeuvre artistique est un événement en soi.
October 24th, 2006 07:40
I like it. Thought it was interesting. Dont know how people can have a go at it just because they dont agree.
October 24th, 2006 09:14
Je ressemble enormement a Genevieve Rioux,si le sujet vous interesse moi je suis daccord et de plus cela pourrait etre interressant du fait que j ai le nom d une autre actrice.
J aisserai de vous faire parvenir des photos
October 24th, 2006 19:15
very cool. The work it took to find the people, convince them to pose, etc is huge. and the pixs show talent as well. very cool
October 24th, 2006 22:11
Hey, apparently I was on a McDonald’s bag. A friend of mine asked if I got paid to be on the McDonald’s bag. I saw the bag, and the guy had the same chin same hair (long black dreads) and same basic build. It was creeeeeeeepy. It looked alot like me. Fun, but creepy.
October 25th, 2006 00:01
Oh great people, now all I see in the first photo is a nipple. And unfortunate facial hair in the second last.
October 25th, 2006 03:05
i see nipples in the fifth pic too
October 25th, 2006 05:01
Lemme see…. the photographer DRESSES them alike, STYLES THEIR HAIR alike, and has them WEAR SIMILAR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS.
>GASP
October 25th, 2006 05:28
Just curious, are all the men gay?
October 25th, 2006 12:28
You guys have been looking at these pictures far too long to notice the first picture… lol
October 26th, 2006 13:13
This is very cool. I would love to see more of these. I may even clink on the “Participate” up top.
October 26th, 2006 23:27
interesting thanks for that. suprised at how alike they all look
October 27th, 2006 05:01

October 27th, 2006 17:28
Wow, I definitely give you props on this one. This is nothing short of amazing. You can tell a work of art because it makes you feel something. For me, this made the world feel a little smaller and a little less treacherous.
October 30th, 2006 16:35
this is so gay, some of these are so fricken gay

November 2nd, 2006 14:41
Wtf? I think they’d look cool if they weren’t all touching like flaming homosexuals.
November 6th, 2006 16:33
This is excellent, superb shots and so well posed thoughtful without being artificial. Love it.
November 6th, 2006 19:04
i iked them too. glad to see i’m not the only one. that’s pretty cool how they found them like that. i wonder how he did that.
November 7th, 2006 00:51
wow its so cool…ive seen these pics before..

great job…=)
November 9th, 2006 02:49
OMG, that’s the cooolest!
Goldilocks
November 11th, 2006 09:54
On the picture 10, im sure as hell that the guy on the left is the French Canadian ( Quebec ) Rémy Girard ( “Les Bougon”, “Les Invasions Barbares” and others). Im from Quebec so I konw what I’m talking about. Sorry for my English, guys!!!)
November 11th, 2006 15:26
I’D HEARD WE ALL HAVE A TWIN SOMEWHERE, I AM AMAZED AT THE STUPIDITY OF SOME OF THE NOTES ON THIS LIST!
November 14th, 2006 07:42
thats pretty awesome hard to imagine how they managed to find each other like that
November 16th, 2006 05:01
I’m more amazed my the abysmal depths of human intelligence I see on this page.

November 19th, 2006 16:19
the poses are bad thats all im saying it would reinforce the similitude if they were in the same position and like … er not looking like they wanna go monkey over each other
my favourite is number 12 they look like before and after shots or something
November 21st, 2006 13:56
it just make the Matrix more real
November 25th, 2006 14:40
ROFLMAO!!! Thanks SO much for this page! Those silly comments make me once more so very happy to live in Europe! =))
First that ridiculous homophobia thing! GAY??? Well perhaps some are! So what?? Heeheehee!!! And what the hell does that have to do with TOUCHING???
Then that ridiculous “mystery” about the #1 picture!!! Woohahahahaah!!! Yeah, must be that vague resemblance of a nipple!! OMG!! When does America ever grow up…? Woohahahahahaaahhh!!!
Wishing you well, folks!
November 25th, 2006 20:27
Rob, you’re a moron. Yeah, some of them look as if they could be gay – and people have a problem with that, just like you have a problem with them having that problem. Go blow yourself.
If you had actually read all the comments, you would’ve discovered that the ‘mystery’ was not about the nipple, but that one of the people in picture #1 looks like an actor.
Grow up yourself, eurofag.
Oh yeah, and I’m not from america either.
November 26th, 2006 20:41
You are doing a very unik and important work here. Now we can see we are all a big family not “we” and “them”. Adam and Eve ?? well, who knows really….. I look forward to see more photoes from you and I might send a pic too soon…
From Sweden..
November 30th, 2006 10:37

December 1st, 2006 10:11
This website is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It looks soooooooooooooooooooooo amazing to see someone look exactly like someone else but they are not even realated
December 1st, 2006 10:18
Awesome website! Several of the pairs are certainly not identical, but there is strong resemblance in all cases.
I agree the U.S. is full of homophobes, and it is sad; in addition to causing a lot of trouble and heartache for innocent people who harm no one, homophobes miss out on many of life’s pleasures– giving a brother or friend a hug, for example. They are too scared to do that.
December 1st, 2006 15:09
I have 2 brothers and lots of dude friends and I am able to give them a hug or a pat on the back…. however, they would kick my %@# if I touched them like some of the couples on those pics.
December 3rd, 2006 21:19
Hi, i liked this pics a lot! i ve been seing them and reading all the comments above, and i want to say that i also thought some of those couples are gay couples, i am gay myself, and id like to tell you that it is very common that gay pople look a lot alike their couples, i do not know if it is an ego thing or what…
i also have seen that straight people do the same…
so i think it is pretty common.. anyway i thought that the idea of photographing them is very cool.
December 6th, 2006 01:05
I found the pictures interesting, and I agree with the look alike quality. More interesting though is the conversation.
I will admit that I found many of the posed couples to be posed in positions that seemed suggestive of an intimacy, and in some instances it was pretty hot, though with the obvious exception of the chin couple. Part of the problem here in the US is that so few of us are willing to admit that we see this and end up hiding behind a false machismo. Boys don’t cry and they ain’t no sissies either.
It’s just assumed that if a guy looks at you for too long he might also want to do things to your nethers, and for some reason, that really, really bothers some people here. Lesbians are cool as long as they’re hot and stop being lesbians when they leave college/university.
It’s not a great way to run a country, but there are those of us trying to steer the ship into modernity. Here’s hoping our religious zealots don’t end up thinking up the Inquisition all over again. That would seriously suck.
December 7th, 2006 23:38
For those of you that commented way back in October. That in fact is Caroline Dhavernas in the first picture on the right.
December 13th, 2006 00:16
I am the sister of twins and ironically, the mother of twins…and I am amazed at the similarities…
December 13th, 2006 00:21
The German word for a double which you find in the world is “dopperganger (excuse the possible spelling errors) since I have been around so many humans that have “found” their doubles ( my twin siblings, and my own twins) , I find myself somewhat anxious and wondering if I am lucky enough to find my own dopperganger someday.
December 15th, 2006 20:29
DOPPELGÄNGER ALTER KOMM KLAR HAHAHAHAHAHA
December 19th, 2006 02:07
Is it true, that each face has 7 look alikes in the world?
December 28th, 2006 14:58
Awesome work, the couples do look alike, amazing, can’t wait to see the compiled portraits…
December 28th, 2006 16:22
THIS IS GREAT- MY ENTIRE LIFE I HAVE BEEN CONVINCED THT EVERY BODY HAS A TWIN WITHIN EACH RACE!! I ESPECIALLY NOTICED THIS GROWING UP BACK EAST BETWEEN CAUCASIANS, AFRICAN AMERICANS AND ASIANS!! NOW THTS A PROJECT TO WORK ON- BLESSINGS~~
December 28th, 2006 16:39
Many times I have heard that “the eyes are windows to the soul.” These people aren’t EXACTLY alike, but in many cases, the eyes and eye structure work together. I taught for many years, and after teaching a whole family of kids, one begins to see similarities. Especially in the eye structure. Frankly, to be able to do what this artist has done takes a great love of humankind. What a great gift this man has given us. Please conrinue!
December 29th, 2006 13:00
I think the whole concept of this is not only fun but intriguing.
I have been told more than half a dozen times in my lifetime by STRANGERS that I was a dead wringer for someone they knew.Once it was a salesman in a furniture store. He said that other than the fact I was 6′ tall and his wife was shorter…..I could have been HER twin! (He even requested that my boyfriend-at-the-time and I hang out til his lunch break as she would be coming in) My boyfiend did not find this as interesting as we did and we did NOT hang out! Another time I was told by a friend of a friend that I looked like his sister.
Whether these people are “clone-worthy” is not even an issue. This is good clean fun!
I was blonde for 42 years….and this month I became a red head…wonder if any of MY “twins” made the same switch!?
December 31st, 2006 11:44
These pictures were interesting. They evoked in me a feeling of wonder and humility. Yes we all looked at every minute detail with the sole purpose of shouting “Aha! They do NOT resemble!”. But whoa there buddy boy! There is that fact that in the country you reside or not, someone is walking around, going about their daily lives, who could be mistaken by a man on a galloping horse, to be You!
MINDBOGGLING!!!!!!!
January 1st, 2007 07:04
What I want to know is, where did they find each other?
I know if I found my double, I’d probably kill him and take over his life………
……..it’s got to be better than mine

Great idea, but what I want to know is, how did they find their doubles?
I know that if I found my double I’d probably kill him and take over his life……….

wow…I love to meet someone that look like me…
I also think they are a few people here that need to grow up, touching each other for a picture have no revelance of their sexual tendencies.
January 2nd, 2007 04:03
Wow, this is such a neat post and a very creative idea!
January 7th, 2007 01:13
This is awsome
I love the two guys with black hair and the same shirt and the man and the women.
Gay people eat you all
January 11th, 2007 09:35
Why cant someone clever create a search-site where you together with your photo fill in information about your face and features, then the machine compares and matches and up comes all candidates, wouldn`t that be cool?
Of course this means we all have to be honest and actually type down yellow eyes, square mouth and red nose, if that´s the case..
January 20th, 2007 08:54
I have someone that looks just like me. I have never met this person, and i know nothing about her. If your ever interested in looking i would really love this. All i have is a pic that my grandmother had found some how.
January 22nd, 2007 12:43

February 4th, 2007 11:31
Hi – I was told about a “look-alike” in my own town, and this even caused sometimes bad situations ( “I met you last sunday, why did you ignore me ..?”,”What were you doing (there…) last week..,” etc…
The most curious thing is that this happened at all periods of my life whenaver my look changed (long or short hair, bearded or not…). Up to now, I identified two of those “look-alikes”… One of thme is… one of my cousins… the other one was working in a hospital where I made a stage… before we ever met, many patients told each of us as much alike we were… Now that I’m getting older, I was quite surprised on a canadian web cam-chat to hear that I looked like the actor Don Sutherlend… went on Google to check this, and found a awesome pic… even my daughter think “he” is “me” now I’ve put this pic on my messenger profile ..! only notice “how smart I look with my new hairstyle and glasses…”…
February 18th, 2007 07:10
puauhahuahuah good work
February 19th, 2007 23:23
I agree with everyone who has good eyesight…same clothes, same hair…look closely, the curve of the mouth, how long the nose…, the eye,is it turned up or down…nothing alike.
March 1st, 2007 18:41
Hey Nic {and everybody with good eyesight},
So if everybody in these photos puts on the same clothing and styles their hair the same, they will all look alike? You’re right….I see it now. What a great tip for fraternal twins who really want to be paternal twins. Just dress alike and have the same hairstyle. Voila! You’re now paternal!
March 2nd, 2007 18:12
I’m not seeing the resemblance in some of these. Am i missing something? Some of them are pretty cool, they do look alike. I would have to agree though that the hair and style does make them look alike.
March 2nd, 2007 18:13
I’m not seeing the resemblance in some of these. Am i missing something? Some of them are pretty cool, they do look alike. I would have to agree though that the hair and style does make them look alike. Anyway, i think it’s cool, and I think you should branch it out too celebs!
March 2nd, 2007 23:09
Even though I do not know my look alike, I find it comforting to know that there is someone out there just as awkward as me.

That is awesome to me. Y does everything have a reference to sexuality? I hate that someone could try to make it like it is just something so impossible…everyone is made out of dust and when you die we all look alike…Dust plain old earth!!
March 2nd, 2007 23:53
It was a strange feeling comming to this site. I had just finished watching the program on 2020. It was almost like i was being sent a message. I was in a restaurant 600 miles from home and a young lady came out of the kitchen. I was shocked. I thought i was looking at my own daughter. I almost called her by name. It was uncanny the resemblance. I do believe
March 3rd, 2007 00:11
Beautiful, Francois! J’ai adore ces photos! I’ve been told I have look-alikes as well, but I haven’t met one yet.
March 3rd, 2007 00:13
Found this page after watching a 20/20 piece about the photographer. Here is the video-link:

(you have to watch commercials before the vid starts)
I think the photos are fun and really well done. Someone the other day said I looked like Justin Timberlake. I wasn’t too happy about that. I guess I’ll keep looking for my double.
March 3rd, 2007 01:49
OMG!!!!!!!!!! I SAW THE 20/20 EPISODE AND I MUST SAY AMAZING WORK! CONGRATULATIONS ON THIS GREAT PROJECT!!!!!!
March 3rd, 2007 03:27
Hey Brian
I agree with you…some people are just trouble makers. Although 20/20 did say some people find it really uncomfortable. I just watched the 20/20 special. I think it is so cool, and that he did a great job. Also, how these people chose not really to stay in touch with each other after the shoot, and that some cultures believe it is bad luck to see your twin….
I like to meet Patrick Dempsey’s twin and than highjack him to my bedroom…LOL
March 3rd, 2007 10:31
I don’t see how some of you can NOT see ANY similarities in these people. With the exception of the first picture, they all look very similar.
The one with the guy touching the his look-a-like’s hair kinda creeps me out though.
March 3rd, 2007 17:15
It would be interesting to include black and white people who look alike.
March 3rd, 2007 19:23
I saw the show on 20/20 last night and thought it was great. I have been mistaken for other people and have lived in 12 other states in the US. I grew up in a town where another lady and I looked so much alike, that people were convinced I was her and I was conning them. Not true. Would love to meet her.
March 4th, 2007 17:27
I don’t think they are all doubles, they simply resemble each other. In fact a lot of them look as if they could be brother and sister. They are nice pictures, but doubles they are not, in most of them.
However, if dressed similarly…like they are in the pictures…a few of them could be mistaken for each other if one did not know them well. Or even if one did know them well, they could be mistaken at a glance…until they talked to them.
March 5th, 2007 00:49
OMG I so agree with what clara said back in Dec ‘06. I also believe that people have lookalikes in other races as well!! I have seen it. Oh yeah…Some of these photos DO seem a bit suggestive. Im not gonna go all the way and say they’re Gay, but many of these positions are atypical of normal heterosexual AMERICAN males.
March 5th, 2007 03:45
I think the only similar things in the first photo, is the way the girls did there hair, The eyebrows were shaped similar, the girls didnt smile, making there lips look the same and francois put them both in turtle necks. I guess all those similaritys are enough to photograph someone! still very cool! Im impressed!
March 5th, 2007 07:43
I saw my double in high school while attending a weekend class in advanced biology at the Los Angeles Museum of Natural History. Yeah, we were both pretty-boy nerds. He was from a known rich school and I wasn’t. It was very disturbing for both of us!
We were attending to the lecture when there was a distracting bustle in our general area of the auditorium. His friends were pointing me out to him and everyone around was looking and pointing at us both. When he finally turned around we both froze. It was a twilight zone moment, me looking at me a few rows over and seven rows down.
When the lecture was over we met, determined no connections and hurried away from one another. We were both disturbed and embarrassed in a way. We both instantly resented the fact that our faces were interchangeable and our individuality was gone forever.
Now I whenever I think of that day I think of the mummy in the hallway. I still avoid that guy’s face!
March 5th, 2007 11:10
These are just incredible! Very artistic. Speaking of look alikes… they guys in photo three look like they could be cousins to Mr. Bean. For real.

I’m in Michigan and I met a double in 93, he was from New Jersey. We had a friend in Long Island we’d both sent pictures to, and she told us we looked alike. We drove the same model car, same color, he was a year older. I was more muscular, but other than that, we were like twins. We met in person in Chicago in 93. My sister saw a picture of him when a group of us from Prodigy were there in Chicago to meet and she asked when did I have plastic frame glasses, I have always had wire frame. She was amazed it was my twin from Jersey. Tonight another on-line friend posted a link to a site and a guy that looks like me. He’s right, just the guy has more hair that I do.
Not all these people shown here knew each other. Some are from different countries, so not. I saw a story about this explaining it all. Some people refuse to pose since it creeps them out that somebody looks like them, others just don’t see it.
March 7th, 2007 06:56
Hi FredEx,
Delighted to hear from a fellow Meeter! You sound like your encounter did not creep you out at all like my high school bad dream moment. Was it that you were more mature or that you were softened up for the experience maybe? Just curious.
Mathematically speaking it is inescapable that all of us DO have doubles and more. There are only so many Mister Potato Head parts in God’s box.
March 7th, 2007 19:17
only question i ask, do all of them and their mothers knew their fathers well enough?
on a serious note, it is a nice Art Work, there is more depth to these pictures then the similarities of the characters, the expressions, the baground, the smiles all add to a uniqueness of each picture, someone has in fact asked in comments above as to why shoould all the characters touch eachother, i think that it is exactly what the pictures portray, a similarity in all of us on matter where one is there is something that sounds or looks or feels similar.
March 7th, 2007 19:47
I had someone who looked like me almost but I think she was much prettier than me. We went to the same school. I don’t believe what people tell me that she’s my sister but she’s not my sister at all.
March 7th, 2007 20:48
I thought I was the only person who knew about Wonderfalls. Damn, that was a good show.
March 8th, 2007 16:42
I saw your show on 20/20 and thought it was very cool….I have a 9 year old son who everyone who sees him, says he looks just like George Clooney… but he even has a patch of gray hair on in his hair (natural) Do you ever do pictures of celbrity look alikes? It would be a great comparison in age. Id gladly send a photo if you’de like to see the resemblance.
Thanks,
Susi

Hi all -
found these photos while looking for a name of a syndrome I’m sure I have: so many people look alike to me, that I have trouble recognizing them as individuals. To me, there does not seem to be so many different people – at least, not as many as I KNOW there are – because so many of them look alike. I think of them as belonging to certain groups.
Splitting the couples up, and viewing them, one by one, I would fail miserably at saying which was the person to the left, or to the right.
Anyone heard of this? I have, just can’t remember the name.
Lovely twins!

any chance you could set up a way for people to submit photos and look through an album to see if there are people that look like you on your site?
March 27th, 2007 09:37
how can they look alike if there not family.
March 28th, 2007 20:16
it is amazing how a similar bone structure or feature placement can make people look so much alike. i found this site because i was searching the web for info on twins and astrololy. this has always interested me. when “the anna nicole smith show’ first aired, i was astounded at how much my daughter looked like anna nicole–she could have been her twin. i then did a search on google for ‘celebrity look-alikes’ and found a few talent agencies that represent the look-alikes of famous people. it was fun to look at all the hits and misses. some of the resemblences were uncanny, some not so good. there is also a website where a program is able to compare your own photo to a database and it will tell you what celebrity you look like. although it is not close to being perfected, it did pick out certain feature resemblences fairly well. i tried it out and it said i resembled a famous asian personality (i am not asian) among others (sorry, i can’t recall the address of the site–but if i do, i will post it). there was a girl in my highschool that many people told me i looked exactly like, although i did not see any resemblence. i don’t suppose i would even realise if someone looked like me unless i saw side by side photos.
the photographer in this series is very talented-an artist!-i enjoyed these portraits and look forward to more. thanks!

These pictures are aweseome! When I was in nursing school, I had a tough instructor who thought I looked just like someone she knows. My classmates were envious because they swore I received special treatment because I looked like someone. I never saw this person. Thank god didnt have bad feelings toward this other person, nursing school may have been hell.
April 2nd, 2007 17:16
Awsome !!
April 4th, 2007 06:30
that is really funny! but is it real?
April 6th, 2007 18:11
First I would like to say that I personally know the photographer and I know his project as well.
For those who wondered why the models are always touching each other, it’s probably a concept of the artist, who wanted to show the proximity of two people who look-a-like even if they’ve never met before… imagine you meeting your double… maybe you wouldn’t be shy to be close to this person (who looks in some ways like you)? Also, someone already said it but it would actually be difficult to show similarities of two faces without having them touch in some way…
And most of the time, the photographer doesn’t tell the people how to dress and how to place their hair and that’s what makes the project so unique and surprising… the only thing the artist Francois Brunelle does is looking at his subjects to find what to enhance to make them “look-a-like” … I only wanted these points to be clear… because I felt that some people didn’t really took the time to appreciate all the work behind all these pictures!
April 8th, 2007 09:46
These photos are awesome!! I love how they look real and not airbrushed. And alot of them do look alike.
April 15th, 2007 07:57
Some of them do not look alike, but they pass as family somehow xD
I have a look alike (a friend, not family). It’s something really creepy, but we always make fun of it =P

I recalled a magazine article from SkyandTelescope.com issue February 2003 which I was able to reread recently. In the editor’s letter they talk about mistaken identity fo two people who work together a the magazine and often are mistaken for the other person. They are not related but look very much alike. Their names are RIck Fienberg and Stuart Goldman. Thought you maight interested in contacting them to include their photo in your collection. They can be reached at the address above. Good luk with your project – I think it is fun. Sincerely, Gary
May 15th, 2007 06:31
For the past 3 years I have been mistaken for another guy living in the same small city as me. I’ve even had, on several occasions, people start conversations with me thinking I was him. They were totally stunned when I had to explain I wasn’t, and in one case the person knew him well. The last person to mistake me for him told me his name and where he works. The big question is, do I see for myself? Curiosity says yes I suppose, but not 100% if I should.
May 20th, 2007 19:32
The remarks of some of the posters surprised me. To me, it looks as though these people ‘resemble’ one another, as if family, and were posed, dressed, and where necessary, fitted with the same hairstyle, glasses, whatever necessary, to make them resemble each other more so.
Come on you guys! I’ve met people, that if we had dressed alike, wore the same makeup/hairstyle and were posed correctly, we would have ‘passed’. And this ‘gay’ thing is just stupid. The ‘touching’ is to get the subject close enough so we can see the (dis)similarities. But yeah, whatever the number pic it is, you know the one I mean, well, one poor guy hit the skids, and his ‘cousin’ is doing just fine. But the two ’soccer cuties’…well, I think they probably went for drinks afterwards. Hey! I’m only human and that’s my opinion! lol
May 22nd, 2007 07:55
wow, that’s incredible.
I saw a similar set of pics over here http://www.kidsolo.com

I REALLY THINK THIS WAS AWESOME IVE ALWAYS BEEN TOLD THERE WAS SOME ONE WHO LOOKS JUST LIKE YOU OUT THERE I THINK YOU DID A GREAT JOB THAT PROBABLY TOOK ALOT OF HARD WORK GOOD FOR YOU THANKS FOR SHARING IT WITH US
June 21st, 2007 06:24
no I think the first picture has the hair, nose, eye brows and the chin
June 27th, 2007 01:09
Some of them really don’t look that much alike. That last pair hardly looks alike at all. They just have similar hair and identical sweaters.
June 30th, 2007 23:59
I cant help wonder if people that looks almost like twins experience some kind of bond,or anything out of the ordinary.Did anyone notice the first couple?
July 4th, 2007 09:37
lol I’m guessing God was being a little lazy when he made them. xD
July 12th, 2007 04:58
This is great!
I have started a social network with face recognition technology launching in July 2007. It is called ilooklikeyou.com and is being used to find your look-a-like in the world and to help put them together in a network where their connections are based on the face. It will be interesting to see wher this goes.

very cool project, impressive
July 24th, 2007 04:27
All of these pairs look more alike than my twin and I do. Unbeknownst to us, we had a mutual friend in a city we lived in many years ago. He came to my apartment one day when my sister was there and when he came through the door and saw her, he said, “Hey, I didn’t know you girls knew eachother!”
August 19th, 2007 06:38
There’s only a few different types of people, so this wouldn’t be that hard.
August 20th, 2007 11:14
I think for random people they look very alike as many people know that the closes to lookalikes you can get are identical twins and even they are not always the same in looks. this shows that this is a good way of showing that no one people is the same as another and it is hard to have anyform of lookalike.
August 24th, 2007 05:59

August 31st, 2007 17:32
the guys in pic #11 are gay sex hot!
September 17th, 2007 04:06
maybe it’s having twin sisters but none of these people look that similar and some of them seem to look quite dissimilar…i am not impress
September 24th, 2007 22:42
I Think the similarities of the subjects is quite remarkable- although I always have my doubts when I see things like this posted on the web. Who is to know if these pictures have been photoshopped or altered in any way to make the subjects look even more alike than they really are? I have been amazed at some of the things photographers can do when they start altering digital images so I am always skeptical.
September 28th, 2007 21:59
As a photographer myself, I think this is a fascinating project, and very well executed. I also really like that the subjects are all in physical contact with each other – not only does it obviously allow their features to be in closer proximity for comparison, but it creates a sense of intimacy that’s really interesting. Well done!
(And to the commenters whining about how men engaging in physical contact with each other is OMG TEH GAY – well, I’m very sorry your daddies never hugged you when you were growing up, but please don’t project your ridiculous fear of boy-cooties onto the rest of the world.)
October 11th, 2007 13:48
Flavored with some salt and a little ketchup, Soylent Green actually tastes pretty good!
October 25th, 2007 19:34
wow, kind of interesting but the pictures are creepy! Are they in relationships or something?
Some of them don’t really look all that much alike. …
November 28th, 2007 18:57
Okay, obviously few of you know how to look at ART, which is what this photographers work is, and it is an excellent work. Also, do you think you just “landed where you are?” I am an American, however, I know my heritage, and my family went to Canada from France in the 1700’s. Wow, when you think about heritage it makes it not that impossible at all that we have a “twin” out there somewhere…or several. As for the gay ignorance displayed in the comments on this page (for the record I am hetrosexual) it amazes me in the 21st Century mankind has not learned from it’s mistakes.
December 16th, 2007 20:49
I think they look too much alike.
what I always find interesting is how 2 people can look totally different (haircolor for example) but still have the same features or way about them.
I like the one with the guy in the suite and the guy in the leather jacket in particular for some reason
well done
December 17th, 2007 20:54
Cool concept. It’s weird, when you go to Europe, you see people who look exactly like someone from the states, yet are not related, or from the states.
December 18th, 2007 02:03
If you read the other articles that are not titled “look alikes” you will find out that the artist is looking for “Resemblance”. he has found that in abundance.
I like that he didnt try to match everyones facial hair, hair styles, ages or even weights. These people resemble each other… and its cool…
December 18th, 2007 03:47
I was routed here by some a friend who was involved in some TRUE look-alikes – and I agree with everyone who stated taht these are poor “look-alikes”.
December 21st, 2007 23:13
Interesting. Some are close. Some are dead on.
December 24th, 2007 02:28
look like they might be related..could be the point..that’s okay.
erm…
what’s this gay thing with some of you “people”?
and, by the way, ticklemapickle – have you got a special keyboard that puts capital letters on every word? If not – you must be one sad wossname – (sorry – I meant Wossname)..Hate To Meet Your Double
December 24th, 2007 09:54
That’s just weird…
December 25th, 2007 12:32
In the first picture the two girls dont look-alike…but these people do look very similar…this site is soo cool..please make more…
January 14th, 2008 07:28
Know what I like about this whole site? This is ART. ART is supposed to make people think and talk. This is exactly what I see. And interpretation, as well. Look-Alike just means 2 apples from different trees LOOK ALIKE.
No one sais they looked like twins. Just ART.
I imagine disection is part of ART!
LOVE IT!!!!!
February 5th, 2008 19:31
Nice idea, this people looks like very happy. I must take a photo with my brother and sister
February 15th, 2008 22:23
I think some of them look alike, that’s pretty cool. i think # 2,3,6,7,9,10, 12 and the last one looks alike.. or look like they can be related..
February 24th, 2008 11:48
i like the project and the photos:)
March 2nd, 2008 07:34
All you folks who decided you were morally superior enough to publicly instruct others in how they should behave on a message board were the most boring of all commenters here. Who elected you god and informed you that you were the pinnacle of Western civilization, evolutionarily developed beyond your fellow humans and therefore qualified to look down upon them and sniff, in your superior way, “little worm of a human, have faith. Someday, you can be like me.”
Get over yourselves and just accept that each and every comment is the reaction of the individual to the particular situation and means something only within the context taken as a whole. Your jumping in and flashing your moral superiority is no better than what it is you think you are decrying.
Again, get over yourselves.
March 16th, 2008 20:14
Amazing people who actually look alike. Love it. I want a look alike. Please look like me. I want to marry my look alike. I want to eat spaghetti off his hairy bottom.
March 21st, 2008 04:52
Wow…”This is just the doppleganger theory?” That’s like saying, “This is just the theory of evolution,” or “just the theory of the transmigration of souls.” People are funny. Anyway, on the planet where I live these pairs mostly all look remarkably alike; while not like identical twins (except #s 2, 7, 9 & 11 who could be) they all look like relatives. And one on the right does look like Jared Leto, but her nipples aren’t as prominently displayed as his usually are. And regarding the touching, I think to squeeze two people together that tightly for a picture, anyone who was avoiding touching would seem pretty overtly homophobic. Great art project.
March 25th, 2008 06:14
I saw a girl on the internet who looks exactly like me! It was so freaky go on amiaceleb.com and there are a bunch of people!
April 5th, 2008 03:56
I think many of these show a remarkable similarity. I don’t understand the criticism by people saying none of them look much alike….no, they’re not mirror images, but they look more alike than many family members do.
April 19th, 2008 01:08
I would like to know which are American and which are European. Just curious.

People need to look at this pictures from a very sensitive point of view to understand the artist purpose. As it is with any other artistic expression, the invisible link of objects in a piece of art have a reason to be, in this case are non related couples with extraordinary similitudes. It’s completely point less to wonder why their bodies touch, just admire the fact that the human body is amazing.
May 6th, 2009 21:44
The title is actually correct. Only a few of them are almost copies.
