400 Cigarettes
Thursday, November 15th, 2007.
The video below is showing the process of extracting Tar from 400 Cigarettes. Each one contains 18 mgr, so in the end this guy extracted 7200 mgr of these highly toxic chemicals found in these cigarettes. So, you are still smoking?

this is not true to real life, no one smokes the filters, or smokes all of every last drop of smoke, its puff, puff, puff, not puuuuuuuuuuuufffffffffffffffffffffff…
November 17th, 2007 03:58
Yeah, this is true. Also, he didnt burn the filters, you can plainly see that. Even if you “puff puff” instead of “puuuuuff” you will get the majority of whats inside the cigarette into your lungs. Theres really no need to glorify smoking, if you do or dont do it, good for you, but dont hide and say they arent bad for you, lol.
November 17th, 2007 04:00
Maybe the point of it is: over a lifetime period, what amount of this shit would you have in your lungs? imagine that.
November 17th, 2007 04:23
18mg of tar per cigarette? What kind of gross smokes are those?
Mine have like 7mg
November 17th, 2007 08:13
The point of this was not to say, “here’s what you get in your lungs exactly.” It was to point out, based on the title of this thing, how much tar is in 400 smokes.
November 17th, 2007 08:38
“this is not true to real life”
And no one just smokes 400 cigarettes in their lifetime. So what is your point?
November 17th, 2007 09:21
i wish i could smoke that fast…
i bet your little tar ball could be marketed,
i’m gonna check into that.
thanks for the idea
November 17th, 2007 09:47
“this is not true to real life, no one smokes the filters, or smokes all of every last drop of smoke, its puff, puff, puff, not puuuuuuuuuuuufffffffffffffffffffffff…”
This is true. It might take anywhere between 800-1200 cigarettes to get to that level of disgusting and deadly sludge! That makes it all better.
November 17th, 2007 10:19
I love smoking!
November 17th, 2007 11:14
Nasty. I’m sure even us folks that must endure 2nd hand smoke have as much fun with the tar.
November 17th, 2007 11:36
To: former_smoker – Can’t smoke 400 cigarettes in a life time? 1 pack of 20 cigarettes a day equals 7 280 cigarettes a year. Now think about all the crap accumulated over 25-30 years. That’s the point.
November 17th, 2007 12:11
for casual smokers, even just a couple cigarettes a day, in a little over 1/2 year there could be that much crap in your lungs. imagine over a lifetime of casual smoking.
November 17th, 2007 15:47
For the “no one smokes the filters” commentors:
These cigarettes are the Japanese brand “Golden Bat”, they are filterless.
November 17th, 2007 16:50
To: anti-smokers – Mind you own business, you don’t like smoke then stay away from places that allow it. Stop trying to be the over protective parent. If smokers want this crap in their lungs then so be it. If they want to risk cancer, then its on them not me.
To: smokers – thanks for you tax money.
November 17th, 2007 19:04
He should have done the concentration under a fume hood. Then he handles the toxic tar with bare hands? Lucky he didn’t get poisoned from the nicotine. I hope he disposed of his little experiment properly as hazardous waste.
November 17th, 2007 19:21
noooooooo the beautiful cigarettes ….you killed them
(
November 17th, 2007 19:26
mmmm …delicious tar
November 17th, 2007 19:26
I thought it was funny how he used gloves when handling the cigarettes, but handled the toxic tar ball with bare skin.
November 17th, 2007 21:20
lol he’s holding the cigarettes with gloves and tongs and shit
like he’ll absorb all of the dastardly chemicals in cigarettes through his skin
November 18th, 2007 01:06
i would like to see a comparison of ciggerettes to marijuana, maybe something similar like 400 joints and 400 cigerettes.
November 18th, 2007 01:29
When are people going to realize that you are not going to stop smokers from smoking by showing them crap like this. I smoke, I know its bad for me, not going to stop me. Just ask a smoker and they’ll agree. Sure the cigarette companies may have hid the dangers 40 years ago, and even 10 years ago. But years of government studies have shown just how bad they are for people, yet the cigarette companies still manage to turn a profit.
November 18th, 2007 02:55
to: marine 2171, you are really that dumb to be thamkfull of the cigarettes tax dollars? How much do you think it costs the goverments in health care? 100 times over any taxes you can think of. All that money wasted in those stupid fools that just deserves to die from they’re own stupidity, money that could be used for anything else that’s really important to the mass of any society. Smoking affects everybody wether you think so or not. Smoking is banned anywhere public here in Canada; restaurants, bars, etc. They’re puffin asses belong outside, rain or shine.
November 18th, 2007 03:10
why do non-smokers waste so much time telling smokers what we already know.
an all-too-familiar conversation:
random person: you know, smoking’s going to kill you…
me: the sooner the better. mind your own business.
or
6yo girl: my daddy says smoking’s going to give you lung cancer, and that you deserve it if you smoke…
me: my daddy says santa’s not real. he also told me not to talk to strangers.
so for you non-smokers, yes, we know. give it up already. i like my cigarettes – a lot more than i like you.
November 18th, 2007 04:21
It’s not about convincing you (since you’re an addict, and therefore not driven in this matter by reason), it’s about providing you with the information you need to understand why it will be commercially banned one day – and that you will personally be reaping great benefits from this.
Society as a whole pays for the habit of cigarette smokers – healthcare costs, quality of life standards, second hand smoke, and the list goes on as you delve to a more personal scale.
Get a clue. I used to smoke until I took a good long look at the facts and tried to refute them from with a reasonable smoker’s perspective… really the only reason to continue smoking came down to the fact that I felt like I needed to and even thought I wanted to. In the end, you realize that was just the addiction – some impulses in your brain that twist your logic in order to get the nicotine to which it has become accustomed.
November 18th, 2007 10:15
To:anon -How pathetic you think you sound anon?how selfish can one be?we talk about it(non-smokers) to spread the word.that smoking is all around bad for everyone.that we have enough bullshit going on already everywhere to willingly kill ourselves this way.something preventable like smoking should already been delt with.is_that_the_final_high is right about all the money we could have to put to better use,but what you gonna do? they’re will always be a majority of-i like my cigarettes -a lot more than i like you- full-of-themselves individuals to fuck up.
November 18th, 2007 11:33
I fuckin smoke but i dont fuckin smoke that much. The only way smoking will effect u is if u smoke like 2 packs a day.
November 19th, 2007 01:04
well i found the whole video less interesting than the very beginning, the english is AWESOME! rofl
November 19th, 2007 01:05
smoker, you retarded! read what is_that_the_final_high wrote and you’ll know, do the math idiot.
November 19th, 2007 01:23
Humans breathe out. This machine does not. Sure there is tar buildup. I’m not saying that cigarettes aren’t bad for you. I smoke and I wish I didn’t. People do die of lung cancer. However, this video does not help the non-smoking cause, because it’s not scientific. It doesn’t replicate or even measure what a person would have in their lungs after smoking 400 cigarettes. Smoking 400 cigarettes in one sitting would KILL YOU. That’s 20 packs…
If you want to show a realistic view, have a machine that exhales, smokes a cigarette every hour or so, and undergoes biological processes like healing.
Then make your little video.
November 19th, 2007 03:57
Daniel, you are uninformed. Blowing out simply blows out the smoke – not this gunk. Plus, as previously stated, its permanent. You can’t heal – its stuck in your lungs.
November 19th, 2007 23:07
I smoked a cigarette while watching. Mmmm… Tar.
November 20th, 2007 01:58
“I smoked a cigarette while watching. Mmmm… Tar.”
Me too. And I wasn’t beforehand. Sweet sweet nicotine.
People who smoke and see this and are amazed/appauled are idiots. I’m no idiot. I know I’m killing myself slowly. But man o man do I enjoy smoking. Mmm…
November 20th, 2007 08:37
Affinity: you are wrong. It doesn’t stay in your lungs forever. The human body has the amazing ability to repair almost any kind of damage. The lungs clean it out over time… that’s why the additional risks diminish for people who quit smoking.
Everyone else: Nonsmokers “spreading the word” about not smoking? Everyone knows it’s bad for you. Drinking (even occasionally) is bad for you too. Overeating is bad for you. Laziness is bad for you. There’s a lot of shit out there that isn’t all that great but smokers and nonsmokers alike do it anyway. It’s a personal choice that everyone has the freedom to make. If someone is doing something you don’t like, why do you hang around them? People who don’t like karaoke don’t go to karaoke bars… so why do people who don’t smoke insist on going to places where people smoke and then bitching about it? Quit being elitist bastards and deal with it. I’m a nonsmoker – I only smoke on those rare occasions when I drink. Unlike a lot of the people posting comments here, I respect others’ freedom of choice.
Additionally, this is only a video. The experiment performed here was flawed in a few ways, but the central point was to determine the amount of tar in 400 cigarettes. The result would have been exactly the same with any other burning plant matter – it’s soot and other residual byproducts of oxidation.
November 20th, 2007 14:15
Affinity, educate yourself before responding please.
November 21st, 2007 07:44
Second Hand Smoke Argument- is based on studies that have been rejected by most self respecting scientists, sure its probably not the best for your health, but so far it has NOT been proven to cause cancer.
Money Money Money Money- Yeah smokers cost non smokers money, but so do people who eat to much, people who don’t get enough sleep, people who have too much stress, people who don’t look both ways when they cross the street, ect… PLUS! its even more dangerous to have a mind set of smoking should be outlawed because it costs me money… this is a free country… deal with it.
Yeah its bad for you- DUH! unless you just recently crawled out from under a rock you KNOW ITS BAD FOR YOU! but its not non-smokers FUCKING BUSINESS!… and I’m willing to bet money that most of you started your day today with coffee… any idea how many chemicals are in that?… and guess what nicotine has just recently been discovered to increase endurance so maybe its not as black and white?…
I’m a 17 year old high school student who smokes maybe once ever couple months… i like it… so anyone who wants to go off on me can FUCK OFF!!!
November 21st, 2007 16:20
Oh for the love of god, just stop fucking smoking already. There are millions of better things to spend your time and money on that aren’t made of poison. Just stop. I don’t give a shit who you are, you have willpower. Stop being a lazy pussy and put the deathsticks down. Everybody knows the effects and side effects by now so stop trying to justify an industry that literally made billions of dollars killing people.
If you feel your life is so horrible that you need to breathe smoke to make it better, sit down and figure out how to fix your life.
November 21st, 2007 16:52
Holy fucking hell these things are bad for you?!
November 22nd, 2007 00:19
As has been pointed out before, we smokers know it is bad for us. Personally the more someone tells me I should quit the more I want to light up in front of them. I am considerate, I smoke outside and try and move away from people who don’t smoke. BUt to the evangelizing non-smokers, leave me alone, I know all your arguments, you will not convince me, there is a thing called free will and I am exercising mine every time I light up.
November 22nd, 2007 00:59
U know im for smoking just think of it as another type of population control and it all makes sense
November 22nd, 2007 05:29
“There are millions of better things to spend your time and money on that aren’t made of poison. ”
Like wasting your time responding to people about a video?
You make it sound like smoking is one of the seven deadly sins. I smoke. It’s not because I think my life’s horrible. It’s not about breathing in the smoke. Don’t focus on one aspect of smoking and then condemn everyone who does it on that one side.
Over 1/3 of the world smokes, and smoking has been an accepted part of cultures and societies since the Mayans. Deal with it.
November 22nd, 2007 06:51
Dear 17 year old dumb as shit:
I’ll bet you none of my coffee from this morning went into anyone else’s lungs. On top of that, I never throw my cup down on the ground for someone else to pick up. But go ahead; be a loser. You’ll get used to it eventually.
November 22nd, 2007 08:29
OMFG!! Newsflash!! Smoking is bad for you. I am so thankful to have Stumbled onto this video. This will change my life. And to think, I thought it was perfectly safe to inhale the byproducts of combustion into my lungs. Thank you so much for making this video.
Get a life. Everything’s bad for us – smoking, McDonalds, swimming, skydiving, rock climbing, riding motorcycles, picking your nose, sitting on the can for more than three minutes, talking on a cell phone while driving, not using an umbrella, etc. Where does it stop? How much are you going to encroach on my freedom? If it doesn’t hurt anybody else, LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE! If I’m a smoker, I pay higher life insurance premiums. There, feel better?
November 22nd, 2007 09:45
Sean is correct and the same can apply to ‘illegal ‘ drugs. How about going outside to breathe in some fresh air for 5 minutes instead of smoking during break or w/e.
November 22nd, 2007 10:44
There is more tar than that. Because he was using an inefficient way of collecting he tar, by bubbling it through water. Not much travel through the water at that. Some was going out with the bubbles.
On the other hand, your lungs are made of very fine passages and are much more efficient at collecting tar.
November 22nd, 2007 11:17
As a smoker who quit, I have a few things to say…
Yes, we all know smoking is bad for you. Even little children in third world countries know by now. This changes nothing.
People smoke because… they like it. It’s as simple as that. There are worse things to do in life. Trust me. There are plenty of things that people do every day that is just as likely to kill them as well.
Hey, you get drunk, go to bars and have unprotected sex with people. Good for you. That’s you’re choice. You’re responsible for what happens, not me.
As for bitchy non-smokers who are like “omg…. second hand smoke” Shut the hell up. Seriously. You’ve got legs (most of you). Move. Go away from the smoke. Get off your lazy, saturated fat filled ass, and move. It’s really not that hard. And guess what, omg, you’re not breathing it in anymore.
Like I said, I was a smoker. It’s quite possible to quit, and suddenly. And anyone who seriously wants to quit, does. You can bring the horse to water, but you can’t make it drink. Some people just don’t want to quit. Good for them.
Smoking was great from me. I worked a stressful job, and it kept me from killing anyone. But, I’m poor. And unhealthy. So I quit.
Smokers put up with a lot of shit. The most annoying is people going “that’s gonna kill you one day”. News for you, everything is going to kill me one day. I deal with it. Maybe I don’t want to live forever. Just leave me the hell alone. I don’t walk up to you while you’re stuffing your overweight ass and go “obesity is going to kill you one day”. That would be rude.
Non-smokers, do me a favor, shut your faces. Indefinitely. Smokers, you keep on puffing away to your hearts content. Do what you want no matter how much other people bitch. It’s the American way.
November 22nd, 2007 11:22
Go ahead, smoke, I don’t care. I drink and do plenty of bad stuff, it’s my decision. I don’t smoke, but who cares? To each their own.
November 22nd, 2007 11:34
I’m so happy i quit smoking when i did, i feel so much better, i can breath again, my lungs dont hurt,(i can go on and on) and i dont effing smell bad anymore!
Just dont pick up smoking its effing pointless, and if you are smoking now, quit.
I smoked for 5 years 1-2 packs a day, and i really dont know why i did. Like i said before, its pointless and a waste of money.
But hey, im just a random guy, you dont have to listen to me, the only person you should listen to is yourself.
November 22nd, 2007 16:53
All I know is that scientists or doctors or whomever, even the government, have proven that cigarettes WILL have harmful effects. Such as… cancer, extreme lung damage, oh and I don’t know…. maybe DEATH?
For the moron[s] who glorified smoking, you’re an idiot. There is no possible way that you can prove that cigarettes are not damaging to the human body.
My God, I’m barely 18 and even I know that.
November 22nd, 2007 17:33
I smoke, about a pack a week. Since sometime in 1999.
I’ve known they were bad for me since sometime in 1982.
So why do I smoke? ‘Cause I want to. Yeah, it’ll kill me someday. Big deal. Know what? I don’t care (apparently neither does my body–last physical my doctor told me I was in far better health than I had any right to be as an out-of-shape, overweight smoker). As Denis Leary put it–they could put a skull & crossbones on the pack and people would line up around the corner for ‘em.
You wanna complain to me about smoking and its effects on other people? Sell your car and walk or bike everywhere, then come talk to me; otherwise my four cigarettes a day (which are smoked outside and well away from non-smoking lungs) are more than balanced by the emissions from your gas-guzzler (and all the rest of the by-products from its manuacture and upkeep).
November 22nd, 2007 18:39
Interesting , but very true , that smokers don’t care about these facts. Its an addiction , just like eating to much , or World of Warcraft addicts.
This video or any really isn’t going to change the facts.
As a non-smokers , i do agree that smoking should be kept in areas away from others. In my area there is a smoking ban inside public places and your only allowed to smoke 50 feet away from doors. It really doesn’t make much of a difference. But i know a lot of bars are losing money because of this, yet more people are actually going out to eat , rather then hiding because the smell of smoke is disgusting.
Smoking makes your body go numb, you can’t tell the food your eating is crap , cause you can’t tell what anything tastes like anymore.
Second – hand smoke has been proven to be just as fatal as first hand smoke.
Proof of this is the fact how do you explain that a woman that works at a bar that never has smoked gets lung cancer , and she works 40 hours a week in a smoke filled room.
Smokers are slowly leaving smoking in the past.
Its not as popular because of this type of information. And if this video stops even one person from smoking then great.
As for the rude smokers that post hate about how you should walk everywhere.. get a life.
My eating habits , and my driving habits are effecting the world less then your 4 smokes a day. At least you say you move away from non-smokers. I apprecaite that smokers not blow there smoke in my face…
As for the ones that don’t give a fuck about where the smoke , or who they affect. I promise you this , if you ever blow smoke in my face, theres gonna be a large fist in yours.
November 22nd, 2007 18:40
A smoker telling a non-smoker to mind their own business is just pathetic. It is my fucking business, you smokers cost me more than anything you can come up with. And i hate that awful smell following me everywhere. Stupid and low educated people keep on smoking, cause they can’t do the math. You probably don’t even understand what i´m saying.
November 22nd, 2007 19:50
Im pretty sure that end ball is more than 7.2g. Unless of course tar is insanely light. Also what was with the equipment? It was shockingly innacurate. And for people who say that everyone smokes becuase theyre addicted; please don’t. It’s blatantly not true. Everyone does know its bad but then so is eating pizza and so is this horrible chemical called dihydrogen monoxide which can kill if in large amounts and is a major component of acid rain. EVERYTHING KILLS. Smoking can be pleasurable, it can be a social occupation. Lassaiz-fair.
November 23rd, 2007 10:04
@50, Odanhammer–
I’m sorry you took my last paragraph as “hate”. I could have been far more vitriolic; in fact I edited my post several times so as not to come across as saying something more offensive than I meant.
I put my money where my mouth is with comments like my previous one–I carpool or walk to and from work, weather dependent. I’m 32; I’ve never had my license. When I lived in a smaller community, I biked literally everywhere–work, restaurants, school, etc. If your car (’you’ in the generic sense, not personally directed at anyone here) is older than, let’s say 2002, chances are real good that in a 20-minute drive, its exhaust has put out as much or more pollutants than those few cigarettes I’ve smoked all day. Granted, you haven’t directly breathed it in. But then, because I picked up on “smoking etiquette” (mostly from seeing ‘what not to do’ as demonstrated by co-workers), you also haven’t directly breathed in my secondhand smoke.
I’m not judging anyone’s driving (or eating?) habits, or the choices they make in what to drive. I’m way too far from perfect to do that. Why, then, do non-smokers feel the need to judge my smoking habit, especially when I already go out of my way to keep it from affecting them? … Maybe it’s just that the (relatively) few courteous smokers are getting blanketed by the bad rep that the “rawr, I can smoke anywhere and anywhen I want” crowd provides…
November 23rd, 2007 23:06
I am convinced. I will never smoke 400 cigarettes in 4 hours.
November 24th, 2007 02:20
Its true to an extent, then again, by burning the entire cigarette that quickly you achieve temperatures MUCH MUCH higher than normal, allowing higher levels of carbon to actually ignite. I’m not saying smoking NOT bad for you, I’m just saying to actually run a legit experement with a solid control and stable variable is going to be really difficult.
Just stop being biased about everything,
Kudos on the effort and outcome though!
November 24th, 2007 02:21
Wow! I did not know that smoking kills you! Thank you! Will not smoke again!
November 24th, 2007 10:46
A lot of smokers aren’t happy. Almost everyone I’m close to is a smoker. They’re not happy with their addiction. They crave them all the time, they need one everytime they see others smoking, they get headaches and feel like complete shit if they haven’t had one in a while, and they feel run down, out of shape and their sense of taste and smell is very diminished.
They know it’s really bad, but they still do it because they’re brains are sick and delusional from their addiction. They’re in denial and they know they feel like a turd. Nicotine doesn’t feel that great, it smells and tastes like burning horse shit, and they fuck you ass up. Girls don’t want to kiss you.
You only do it because you were 16, stupid and you really thought it was cool. You look like a dildo when you smoke cigarettes. I know people with lung cancer and emphysema from smoking. I also know people who had heart attacks and blood clots from smoking. It really happens kiddies. Wake up and stop supporting tobacco companies.
November 24th, 2007 17:31
How did this guy build a vacuum machine when he can barely type a cogent sentence?
November 24th, 2007 18:32
Verithon I wish to slay you. A smoker telling a non smoker to mind their own business is perfectly sensible. Like others have said before ‘to each his/her own’ I smoke, I’m 21 years old. It costs money, allot. I do not smoke because I think it’s cool. I have quit for over 1,5 years once and half a year once due to girlfriend and job. I quit quite easily both those times. I smoke because I like it. It relaxes me, and gives me something to do. It lowers my stress quite a bit which stops me from actually slaying people like Verithon.
And to people that say ’smokeing costs everyone more money’ I pay 5 euro’s a pack. Thats about 7,50 USD, Without all the tax and stuff they would cost around 50 euro’ cents or about a buck in US currency. Thats 4,50 euro’s (6,50 USD) that goes straight to the goverment. Per PACK of smokes. That adds up to quite the sum of money. Not to mention that if your goverment handles your pension/healthcare like in mine. That’s 10-20 years of Pension I will not be receiving.
Smokeing kills, every smoker knows that. Guess what, your going to die anyway.
And to all those self-righteous pricks that are so incredibly biased against smokeing. There is no reason to hate smokers, none. Second hand smokeing is bull. You choose that, just like we choose to die slow and painfully. Just like we could quit. You could walk away. People that die off of second hand smokeing are more stupid then smokers themselves. And get off your high horse and re-evaluate your own life. Your going to tell me your doing nothing wrong? You never drink alcohol? Eat a steak? Eat fat food? Have unsafe sex? I call bull if you answered no on all those questions. And if you can honestly say no to all of those. God your liveing a sorry life. Your highest enjoyment must be playing Soduku or wakeing up on monday to start a fresh work week.
And we aren’t ’supporting the tobacco companies’ who get censored, have to find workaways, have to PRINT on their OWN products what awfull side-effects they have. And see most of their money gone to the goverment anyhow.
Imagine:
French fries with a label on the bag: Can cause cancer. Only eat after they cooled down for 1 hour.
Hamburgers: May cause obescity.
Beer: Causes you to act retarded. Drive yourself of a cliff. Act violently towards fellow man. Feel sick about your own life.
Whiskey: Johny walker walks. Drink enough and you won’t.
Cell Phones: May cause brain tumors.
Choclate: Obescity
Oh and jenni. Quote: “Nicotine doesn’t feel that great, it smells and tastes like burning horse shit” experience talking here?
And to all your smokeing friends. Smokeing is a mental addiction, not a physical. Your body will never crave nicotine as it’s nothing but bad for it. Your mind however will. 99% of all ‘nicotine patches’ ‘laser surgery’ are just expensive sugar-pills. Quitting smokeing does not require you to buy stuff, it just requires you to.. not be a total idiot. Also smokeing does not effect the brain. It doesn’t make it sick. And only in weaker minds it makes it delusional. And they do not ‘fuck you ass up’ your supposed to use them orally, as opposed to depository.
November 24th, 2007 18:57
while it’s funny to read smokers and non going back and forth…
this video is a total waste of internet. sure, it does show you what cigs contain, and that may be interesting to some people, but this dosen’t illustrate anything about actual smoking. like people have stated, this machine dosen’t breath out. it also dosen’t hold the cig for a while letting it burn while not puffing. and perhaps most importantly, did you see how freakin FAST it was burning those cigs away?? this means the heat produced due to the significantly higher influx of oxygen would combust the tobacco MUCH more efficiently than a human breath, therefor releasing a MUCH higher amount of toxic chemicals.
so to sum up… interesting video, kinda.. totally un-scientific. more than likely a scare-tactic to prevent people from starting smoking. or maybe to convince total idiots.
November 25th, 2007 06:17
Those that still smoke and claim that they like smoking and anyway, ‘it’s no one else’s business’, you are wrong.
WHEN you do get sick, when your cough gets worse and worse, you become a drain on your health care system, even if you are paying for it.
You are taking up an appointment, most likely a bed, nurses, and so on, that should be treating somebody who is sick because they aren’t killing themselves slowly because they have this sense of entitlement.
The tar and sludge from smoking ends up sitting in the bottom part of your lungs, as a dark gooey paste.
If you have ever seen a bottle of molasses, that’s what the tar from cigarettes looks like in your lungs.
That video was a good example of showing what is in cigarettes and how it transforms into a black disgusting piece of toxic waste in your body.
Addicts are usually in denial and when confronted about their addiction, often deflect it to other things that are also unhealthy.
That’s avoidance and denial and that’s addiction talk.
Don’t you smokers know that your habit is so passee?
You are a modern day slave and all your money for cigarettes just ends up in smoke and ashes.
I guess smokers don’t mind inhaling acetone-paint thiner,arsenic-ant poison, battery acid,DDT,formaldehyde, hydrogen cyanide, lead, industrial solvent, urethane and of course nicotine. Every brand of cigarette has these as their main ingredients.
Second hand smoke has over 4000 poisons.
I guess this is what you say taste so good in that precious cigarette you love to take long deep draws on.
Smoking cigarettes is just another disgusting addiction and for now it’s still acceptable, but not for long!

To all the smokers annoyed at us non-smokers who point out that smoking is dangerous, and would like us to stop:
Get over it. You bug me with your smoke, so I’ll bug you with my preaching. If you don’t like it, don’t go places where you might find me, including bars, restaurants, public parks, and city sidewalks. I’m there. I’ll tell you you’re being stupid if you’re smoking. It’s that simple. You don’t have to like it, but I’ve got the right to do it, the same as you have the right to put that garbage in your lungs. So get off your self-righteous high horses and accept the consequences, social as well as biological, that your decisions come with.
November 25th, 2007 20:09
Non-smokers are such pretentious cocks.
I hope I’ve given at least one of you cancer from my second-hand fumes.
I’M NOT GOIN’ OUT ALONE MWAHAHAHA.
Fuckers.
November 26th, 2007 10:02
Not trying to be a troll or anything but the real question is: What are some of the beneficial effects of smoking? Do they really out-weight the negative effects? I doubt cigarettes really cause cancer, its all a goverment conspiracy…
Well then, TTFN…
November 26th, 2007 18:28
Some of the comments on here are genuinely disturbing. Things like “You have to smoke 2 packs a day for them to do any damage” make me die a little inside. Of course I won’t be dying inside as much as some of the people with such a blinkered view on smoking!
November 27th, 2007 01:04
I just thought i would let you all in on a secret… im sure most of you dont know this. k, here it comes…. Non-smokers…….. die…..everyday! maybe some of you dont quite realize this, but its very true, second hand smoke has indeed been proven to contain lots of harmful chemicals, however, it is thinned out greatly when mixed with oxygen, so the ammount of toxins entering your body isnt enough to cause longterm adverse effects. and to whoever told the cute story about a waitress working in a bar, having never smoked a cigarette in her life, dying of lung cancer… well heres something you obviously dont know, ill fill you in, Non-smokers can get cancer as well as smokers, cigarettes are not the only thing that causes cancer, sometimes its i dont know, fucking GENETIC. To all those of you worrying and complaining about smokers, seriously get a life, there plenty of other legitimate things you could worry about, instead of peoples freedoms, you could i dont know, lend support to cancer patients? contact one, send some emails, perhaps you could feed the homeless? i cant afford to feed the homeless myself, i smoke, but you non-smokers have tons of saved money from not “killing yourself” you could help the world, but instead, you just complain about something you should have no right to control because you cant honestly think you life is in danger every time you walk by a smoker and breath 2 breathes of second-hand smoke. my grandfather smoked cigarettes for 21 years, and he has not smoked a cigarette for the last 25, in a physical a doctore told him he was remarkably healthy for someone his age, and they even looked inside his lungs. LUNGS REPAIR THEMSELVES. sorry about the rant, i just hate non-smokers. take your kids off the fucking leash, they arent dogs.
November 27th, 2007 20:33
What an idiot. 1st-how much money did that asshole waste? 2nd-Why did that dick waste 400 cigs? 3rd-His time would have been better spent smoking them. Does he not have a life?
November 28th, 2007 11:11
oh my god i hate non-smokers.
November 29th, 2007 02:13
You’re all wrong except “Marine 2171″ with comment #14.
jeezuss. How about all the shit that’s in food? Or the air? or the water you drink?
I’m sure if you cut open a non-smoker that lived a full, normal life it would be just as nasty as cutting open a smoker.
November 29th, 2007 19:33
Well!, I have to admit that having given up smoking 9 months ago has left a gaping hole in my life. I really don’t think that you are ever truly free of ther habit, But I am glad I’ve given up for financial and health reasons (Also it paid for
my PS3:). Will I live longer?, Probably not! Is my wife happier? Yes!. I can run and work out more effectively now, So it’s good for ME!!! I don’t begrudge smokers their right to smoke, It’s your life. Do with it what you will:)
November 30th, 2007 06:32
the fact that people are arguing over this is retarded… non-smokers will not change smokers minds… they will have to learn for themselves…and non-smokers, who really gives a fuck what these people on the message board do with their lives…let them smoke if they want to
December 3rd, 2007 04:06
Thats nothing. Live around coal plants or work in the mines or some toxic polluted crap hole over in Chine or Russia.. Smoking will be the least of your troubles.
December 3rd, 2007 07:48
Yeah, um, thanks for that wonderful demonstration of why you shouldn’t hotbox a cigarette.
Christ, you people make me sick.
December 3rd, 2007 08:49
Holy shit!!!!! THESE THINGS ARE BAD FOR YOU????? Shit, I thought they were good for you and shit… I thought they helped you lose weight, run faster, made your hair grow faster and made your penis grow an extra 2.453 inches!!!!!!! FUCK!!! I’m quitting right now!!!! DAMN YOU CIGARETTE COMPANIES!!!!!!
Fuckin’ bastards (non-smokers).
December 3rd, 2007 18:40
See this is why everyone should just stick to smoking weed!
December 3rd, 2007 20:32
HI i love you all, i like to smakoe occasionally, and know it’s bad for me, but i like it. I smoke cloves which are probably even worse so oh well.
December 3rd, 2007 20:33
crap i misspelled smoke
December 4th, 2007 00:22
lol whata bunch of knobheads. seriously. do you really think this would change how a smoker feels about smoking? hell no. im smoking right now. but as many people have said, were all gonna die one day, EVERYONE is fucking up the planet.
all you bitch ass smokers – you think polluting your own body is somethign that should be hung drawn and quartered right? but i bet like 90% of you will own a car. which does what? oh right yeah produces carbon emission which (although no proven) seems to be fucking up the ozone layer n all the who gives a shit up there. either way were all going to die. if people can say they want life support taking off, that would be killing themselves. or drinking. or eating grease filled foods. i personally smoke cigs, weed, resin, cannabis oil, i drink, i love the fat that drips from bacon. before you start saying “that’s gonna kill you one day you know?” think about what YOU put into your body that kills you.
and also, exhaling smoke does release some of the chemicals, not every single harmful one but so fuck. yeah there’s free speech, and you have freedom to do almost what ever the fuck you want. i’ll do both thanks.
December 4th, 2007 00:35
lol you punk ass non smokers can kiss my ass. you think we dont know what smoking does to us? yes i know it can give you terrible lung cancer and not to mention a shit load of other things. but so fuck. my grandad smoked since he was 9. and lived until he was 72. and even lived 7-8 years AFTER he was diagnosed with irrepairable lung cancer. and guess what he did? he smoked 200 cigs a day, and a bottle or two of whiskey from the age of 45. spent all but around 100k on booze and cigs. sure he died of lung cancer, but so fuck. obviously he was gonna die from lung cancer or liver disease, he was even buried with a a pack of cigarettes inside a jar of liquor as his last “hehe”.
and to the douche holes that think that lungs cannot repair themselves. where the fuck do you get your facts from? why the fuck do you think people stop smoking? so they dont die from the disease brought by smoking. stopping smoking at the age of 35 or so can give you enough time for your lungs to repair and expell the tar from your system by the age of 50 or so. your choice if you want to or not.
personally i dont want to give up. if i didnt, what the fuck else would i be doing? :S i have alot of free time on my hands, i dont see the point in sports, even if its just a group of friends playing football etc. sure it’ll kill a few hours of the day, but you wont want to do it everyday. and even then, being healthy doenst mean you’ll live longer, people who are too young to smoke die from OTHER diseases. or what about people who die in third world countries? they dont die from smoking, its disease. cba thinking of more shit to right so eat this shit non smokers.
December 4th, 2007 08:55
So toxic and poisonous he can’t take the raw cigarettes without gloves.. but will handle the tar barehanded. Regardless if the point is good or bad, it’s totally obliterated by the failure to maintain any type of consistency.
December 4th, 2007 11:28
crap i misspelled smoke wats that
December 4th, 2007 16:10
“no one smokes the filters, or smokes all of every last drop of smoke”
you obviously never saw me smoke back before i quit!
December 4th, 2007 19:05
It’s interesting to read how many smokers don’t defend their want/need to smoke cigarettes, in a non hostile manner, and are so angry and bitter. Smokers when challenged about their smoking, try to talk all tough and then some, but actually sound more threatened, than anything else. It doesn’t take much for a smoker to feel like they are being backed into a smoke-free corner.
All to do with hanging on to that cigarette with all your might, because smokers know that they don’t know how to stop smoking, even if they secretly wanted to stop.
The angry, foul mouthed smokers don’t upset me, because I know how damn scary it is to even try to imagine yourself having your very last cigarette.
Nicotine is so addictive and all you angry, defense and offensive smokers are addicts, like it or not!
Your reactions to nonsmokers is typical and predictable for addicts.
December 4th, 2007 21:05
I am loosing one of my closest friends to cigarette smoking.
She is in hospital more than she is at home and she has had many a ‘code blue’ in ER.
She goes into Respiratory Arrest because her lungs fill up with too much fluid and she can’t breathe at all, because she’s drowning.
AS soon as she is able to get out of bed, find a wheelchair, she’s in the elevator and then out the hospital front doors, and can hardly wait to light up a cigarette. Her hand has a few IV needles in the veins on her bruised hands, from so many tries to find a vein that’s not scarred from previous admissions.
She is at home now, again, and basically is on life support.
She is on mega doses of steroids that make her very swollen and puffy. The side effects of keeping her airways open, is her weight has soared way up to morbidly obese. She can’t walk more than a few steps and then has to stop to take a few puffers, because she is gray and gasping for air. And she still wants a smoke, right after the puffers.
But she is addicted and always has a few cartons of smokes hidden away in her house.
She smells real bad. The lack of mobility and still being a 2 pack a day smoker, has embedded her clothes and her pores, with a constant strong stale stench.
Smokers aren’t able to smell how bad cigarettes stink them up.
Smokers have very dulled senses when it comes to smell and taste.
That changes once one quits smoking.
Never, never before would she have anything to do with anyone who talked about a life without cigarettes.
The cigarettes were glamorous, just like in the advertising. Everybody else smoked, back then.
There were the usually list of endless excuses and rationals, all pro-cigarettes.
A few short years ago, she could walk with no problem.
There were a lot of things she was able to do and get around on her own. She was independent, until ‘it’ gradually crept up into her lungs.
Those days of freedom for her,are gone for ever.
Her circulation has gradually become so bad that she can’t feel her fingers or her feet.
It’s a mystery to me why she is not dead.
My friend is still under the impression that cigarettes aren’t that bad, because she is still alive and can still smoke, even if she does have to use an oxygen mask or 3, everyday and tons of medications to keep her barely breathing.
When I talk with her on the phone her breathing rattles so loud as I hear her light up one smoke after the other, chocking all the while.
I have never preached to her about cigarettes, but I have expressed my feelings about what a loss it will be for me not have my friend once she dies.
Just because of cigarettes and the tobacco companies’ very slick marketing, my friend got hooked and never stopped.
So the tobacco industry got decades’ worth of her money.
The real price she’s paid for that ‘harmless’ smoke addiction, is no more quality of life, medical complications from greasy, oily-coated, non-functioning lungs and the knowledge that she will go into cardiac or/and respiratory arrest at anytime now.Her chances of surviving the next one, is practically nill.
She is so oxygen deprived, that her memory has started to deteriorate and she doesn’t have much to look forward to in the near future.
The irony of her life, is that one of the few thing she can still do and get some ‘pleasure’ from, is smoking cigarettes, even though the odds are so against her living much longer.
December 6th, 2007 00:40
I like to think of myself as a “considerate smoker” if such a thing is possible: I smoke outside, even in my home and whatever the weather. I don’t smoke during working hours, and never never around children. I honestly think it’s rude to smoke around non-smokers, and do so rarely. When I do smoke around non-smokers, I excuse myself and generally am told I don’t have to-but I do anyway because I know that it is bad for your health. That said, reading the comments on this site make me think I’ve wasted my time and courtesy on people who only want to harass me. After all this time telling myself that wasn’t true. And on top of that have people say I can drive what I want but you can’t smoke anything-I feel worse after biking home from work breathing exhaust fumes (I have had to stop and puke from exhaust when I hit rush hour) than I have smoking. I’m a decade-long smoker (with year-long breaks here and there), and thanks to my time reading comments on this site, proud of it! I hope your proud, hate-mongering, angry people!
December 6th, 2007 22:29
I’m s non-smoker, to be honest I don’t care if people smoke as long as they don’t do it around me. If somebody is smoking I usually get up and leave unless its in a place where smoking isn’t allowed or I can’t move- then that just pisses me off.
People know the risk by now, if they want to smoke they can smoke.
And to Smokers, seriously yes the testing conditions are not that great, but stop refuting the facts because just smoking a pack a day for a year get’s tar build up in the lungs no matter how you smoke- you guys are being pussys for down right arguing the facts. Be mature and just say (like so many smokers have already said) it’s bad for you but you don’t care.
And Julia- I’m sorry you feel that way, I really do hope you continue being a “considerate smoker”, if all smokers had the same manners I wouldn’t care or be annoyed by it!
December 6th, 2007 23:38
to: randy moss
“How did this guy build a vacuum machine when he can barely type a cogent sentence?”
As for “cogent” – do you mean “coherent?” Anyway, this person is from Japan, it says in the video. English is likely their second language.
To the maker of the vid, you might want to wear protection when handling the tar/boiling it as many of the “400 other” dangerous chemicals in smokes are vapourized when boiled. Good video all in all.
December 7th, 2007 20:49
Hm…
Remove all the warning labels and let it sort itself out…
December 7th, 2007 21:24
To Non-Smokers: Get off your high horses. You’re not any better than anyone else because you made the decision not to start smoking. I’m sure many of you non-smokers also choose to participate in other activities that aren’t healthy for yourselves or those that happen to be around you whether it be deliberate or inadvertently down the line.
Perfect example: I was in line at the gas station and a woman and her overweight son or grandson where in front of me. The kid had one of those big 1 liters of mountain dew in his hand and whining that he wanted a king size candy bar of some sort. The mother/grandmother told him “no” and bought him his giant soda and a pack of cigarettes for herself. The (grand)son then begins to lecture her on the dangers of smoking. Meanwhile I can’t help but think, if only they’d teach that kid the dangers of childhood obesity and the values of nutritional eating.
Moral of the story: People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. It’s perfectly legal for adults to smoke cigarettes and therefore should not be ostracized for making that decision.
For Smokers:
Seems like most of the smokers commenting are in denial of the damage that they’re doing to themselves. Such comments like “Well the machine doesn’t exhale” and “No one smokes 400 cigarettes at a time”. You are right, but did you ever think the purpose of this experiment was to show the long term effects? Sure you exhale and you don’t sit down and smoke 3 cartons of cigarettes a day but perhaps years of smoking a pack a day will do that to your lungs. If you’re going to make the conscious decision to smoke then you should at least be aware and accept what you’re doing to yourself instead of trying to defend it. Cigarettes legal for adults to purchase, therefore (as an adult) you have the right to do it, but don’t pretend that what this experiment showed isn’t a fact.
December 8th, 2007 01:39
It’s great to hear the stand that the smokers have taken. “It’s my life and I can do with it what I want” Surgeons in Australia have now refused to operate on smokers who refuse to give up their habit. They get one chance and that’s it. It’s about bloody time, if these morons want to kill themselves smoking, let them. The quicker they’re gone, the quicker we don’t have to breathe in the secondhand shit. Hurry up and die you fucking morons.
December 9th, 2007 10:36
Wow, that was a lot of tar. It may be inaccurate, but I’m not a professional so, I’ll leave it at that. I have never smoked a cigarette or any thing that comes close to it in my life, and i don’t plan on doing it ever. I know the risks, and apparently so do the smokers themselves, so it seems pointless to keep informing them about dangers of smoking. If a person is smoking around me, I don’t bother them with detailed information about “the decades you are smoking away from your life”. Instead I treat them like the human beings they are and avoid second hand smoke.
December 16th, 2007 03:10
To everyone out there who is saying that its not non-smokers right to go around “yelling” at smokers for what they are doing. because most of you smokers are saying “ya its my body and i’ll kill myself if i want w/e” I would bet money that many of you are conservative, right-wing republicans and that if I asked you about abortion you would say HELL NO that aint right, well its like ciggerattes if she wants to get an abortion she should be able to because its “her body” or gay marriage, why the fuck do you care if they are gay? just mind your own buisness. and people are saying america is a free country, obvisouly not if where i live you cant smoke inside any public building or have your son or daughter move the car into the garrage even if its on my property. so america is not free that is all.
December 19th, 2007 20:53
Smokers look like junkies huddled together outside in a storm, sucking back their cigarettes, like a crack pipe and get real edgy just like a tweaker.
Smokers’ hair, breath, clothes, homes, cars, bodies, reek.
Smokers have yellow teeth and usually gum rot.
Smokers are just as arrogant as nonsmokers.
If you need to smoke so bad, switch to ganja!
It’s not cancer causing and tastes so much better.
I have medical research results to back up what Jah says about weed.
Jah also feels real fine from a spliff.
Better than tobacco.
Ganjah makes a good cook up.
December 20th, 2007 03:25
NO ONE GAVE A RATS ASS IF I SMOKED WHEN I WAS EXCHANGING BULLETS AND RPGS AS A MATTER OF FACT THEY WERE DISTRIBUTED FREE, AND LET ME TELL YOU THERE WAS NOTHING AS SATISFYING AS A SMOKE AFTER A FIRE FIGHT,BESIDES STILL BEING STANDING,EVERY SECOND OF LIFE AFTER MY MILITARY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN GRAVY PLEASE ALLOW ME THE LATITUDE TO MAKE MY OWN DECISIONS AS TO MY PERSONAL WELL BEING,BY THE WAY I TOLD THAT STORY ABOUT THE DANGERS OF SECOND HAND SMOKE AROUND THE CAMP FIRE LAST SUMMER AND NO ONE GOT SCARED
December 22nd, 2007 00:32
I fucking love how some people feel so high and mighty that they feel they’re entitled to dictate how another group live their lives. Smokers want to smoke? Go ahead. Leave them the fuck alone. What’s next, banning booze? Surely more people are affected by booze and it’s ill effects, both long-term and short-term, and nobody is talking about banning it (yet). I don’t smoke, and I barely drink, save for the occasional craft beer or fine scotch, but for fucks sake, let people choose their own path, they don’t need you baby sitting them or making their decisions for them.
December 22nd, 2007 04:48
I hate cigarettes. People smoke them and then walk inside, and they smell disgusting. People smoke them when they drive around, and if you are unlucky enough to be riding with them then you’re screwed. People smoke them and act like its no big deal. Well, I should go around slowly cutting people with razorblades. You won’t die today. But you will bleed to death.
December 22nd, 2007 04:54
@ my dreaded tart:
Couldn’t have said it better myself. Smoke the ganja; compared to cigarettes it’s a breath of fresh air. Sure, it’s not “socially acceptable” or “legal”, but it is moral, positive, and enlightening.
December 22nd, 2007 18:10
Haven’t you ever noticed the little segment on a pack of cigarettes that gives the amount of nicotine per cigarette, where it says that the amount of nicotine you absorb depends on the way you smoke? That’s true, you know, and by taking one big long drag of a whole cigarette is pretty much going to make you absord every damn mg of nicotine and everything else that’s in it. So, this is a fallacy. There’s no way that this is an accurate represtentation of what your body absorbs.
December 28th, 2007 03:38
you are all full of shit, suck me sidewards you queers… oo aye fuck america land of the spastics yip yip yaaa fuck the wombles, up the hoods

I have to admit I was I disgusted after watching this video, but then again I looked at the way he was demonstrating the experiment and it didn’t replicate how one would actually smoke a cigarette. I pride the gentleman in taking the time to show what may happen to someones lungs if they smoked 400 cigarettes.
I am a educated female that has been smoking for about ten years. There is not a day that goes by that I do not get harassed by a person for smoking. Many of people that posted replies listed themselves in the group of “considerate smokers” and I feel I would classify myself in that group. I go outside to smoke, step further away from people that are walking by, blow the smoke away from non-smoking patrons SITTING IN THE SMOKING SECTION, and I try not to smoke while someone is eating next to me at the bar. Yet even though I do all of these “considerate” things I continue to get dirty looks, “oh that stinks,” or some form of verbal exchange about smoking.
Technically, I don’t have to do any of the things that I listed above in order to accommodate non-smokers, but I am doing it to be courteous to them because I understand you think it is a disgusting habit. But who is to say that I don’t find chewing with your mouth open, the double whopper that you are stuffing your face with, your children continuously screaming for a candy bar, or your shopping cart loaded with sugary treats for your children offensive. How would you like if I asked why your parenting skills were terrible or say do you know your children can get cavities from that candy bar or maybe Do you know how many calories are in that whopper you are eating??? You may find that annoying…now think about how a smoker feels. Before you are quick to judge smokers for what they do take a look at your own life and look at things that you are doing to yourself or your family that is unhealthy.
January 23rd, 2008 18:42
um k
somethings rong here
it should have durned brown earlier
there all filterless and quite often
no one smokes afilterless cigarette
January 29th, 2008 08:15
people can smoke and smell like an ashtray if they want to, i dont have a problem with it except it wastes billions a year on paying on smoker’s health concerns (caused by smoking) and the fact that their kids have to breath in the stuff as well.
February 6th, 2008 02:56
OMG……..this is to all u non smokers who find it so clever to tell us smokers (on day 6 of giving up for my own reasons by the way)that we should just STOP? tut… how can you possibly comment on something you no nothing about only what the do gooders tell you,i been smoking 25 years an i so wish i never listened to my friends when they were telling me how good an cool it is to smoke, dont you think if it was a case of just putting the cigs down i would of done it years ago!!! im having withdrall symptoms sooo bad! i been told by my doctor that coming off the cancer sticks is like an heroin addict going cold turkey!! i have been climbing the walls as my body gets rid of the most addictive DRUG there is NICOTINE!!!. so please just keep your thoughtless comments to yourself you people who have never smoked…you really do come accross as up your own ass dicks. no offence ment but gonna have someone who is offended and makes another mindless comment. good luck to meeee and quiting,i WILL succeed.
March 7th, 2008 20:28
Good the more I smoke the less time I have to spend with you humans, now let try that with gasoline and see what happens X 300,000,000 gallons per day,
Ha Ha were all dying
March 16th, 2008 22:07
I’ll say to this what I said when I found out that red foods have bugs in them-
I HAVE SO MUCH AWESOME IN MY BODY!
April 9th, 2008 11:49
Smokers do not look cool, anymore.
Smokers smell like old rodent fecal matter.
Smokers who protest too much and curse nonsmokers are no different then any other addict. Why not have some variety and smoke a rock, while your at it.
Same difference,Addicts.
Smokers look pasty and sickly, even after a shower and a change of clothes.
Don’t give head to a smoker because they taste and smell like an old ash tray that got stuck between their legs.
Smokers cough up phlegm the color of shit. Real pretty.
Smokers make lousy lovers compared to nonsmokers, who can breathe heavy without coughing up a lung each time they cum.
Smokers are the worst polluters and there should be a place far away to put you all.
Your teeth are yellowish, your breath always reeks and you are the absolute worst company to keep, because you stink.
Your clothes, hair and skin are coated with a smelly greasy layer of cigarette shit.
Smokers are not sexy.
Smokers always come out the looser and the tobacco companies and reservations are the ones who are making the mega dollars at the expense of your dying lungs.
The tobacco companies are a hell of a lot smarter than their smokers and know it only too well.
They spend millions of dollars to get you to be their mark and then they own you!
I don’t give a shit if you smokers kill yourselves. They sooner the better, because you cost health care way too much as it is for your selfish, self righteous smoke related illnesses.
Smoking makes you stupid because it cuts of oxygen to your brain, dummies!
April 14th, 2008 14:18
People smoke, so what? You don’t agree with it? Fine. As humans, we are born with this amazing organ called a “brain.” Although many of you do not appear to use this organ often (or even at all), it does give the ability to reason and chose what is best for ourselves. You have free will. However, no one can ever live and let live. If something is different than how YOU want to live, you automatically push your will on everyone else trying to get them to conform to who you are. Good job, fascist, I hope you truly get off while enjoying your holier-than-thou attitude.
Ask yourself this; When you’re sitting enjoying yourself, how many people come to you and continue telling you why you should smoke? They give you facts and opinions of the benefits of nicotine and tell you how good it feels. Would you like that at all? Do you like people pushing their will on you? Why do you do it to others then, hypocrite?
It is a personal choice. All smokers are aware of the hazards yet have decided for themselves to smoke. Can it develop into a habit that may lead to death (newsflash: not all smokers are addicted)? Sure. However, how many things are honest-to-God good for you? Quit living in this dream world where you believe that you are going to live forever. You will never get out of this world alive.
April 16th, 2008 21:45
Smoking is no longer an individual dislike, it’s a national dislike. Whether smokers like it or not, in Canada there are provincial laws that are slowly but consistently phasing out the accessibility of cigarettes. We have a great health care system but the amount of smoke related illnesses that become chronic, play a significant part in eating up the monies slotted for health care.
Lots of provincial Long Term Care facilities do not except smokers into their residences, for example.
Personally I don’t care if if one smokes or not. But when children who do not have a voice, are subjected to 2nd hand smoke from their parents and then that kid develops breathing problems, then smoking becomes an issue. Wow, what a lovely gift to give your children, fucked up lungs before they have finished grade school and a life time supply of inhalers and other meds to treat smoke related illnesses.
Do your homework about the effects of smoke on other people. If you don’t care about yourself, then at the very least care about those who become hostage to 2nd hand smoke, like children, the elderly and your pets.
Smokers who protest too much are just scared about their addiction and that is a fact. Ask any former smoker, how they felt going through the withdrawals of nicotine. It’s a bitch!
Smoking is so unattractive and clogs your body with goo.
Men who smoke are more likely to experience a limp dick more often than a nonsmoker.
Patrick Swayze’s cancer has plenty to do with his 3 pack a day habit for decades.
How do you think it’s all effecting his wife and family?
Do you think Mr. Swayze is saying it’s his business and right to smoke, till it incapacitates him and his whole family?
I think he’s got a pretty good support system in place now that he is dying.Do you think he has the same sense of entitlement about his smoking, as he gets his chemo treatments?
So go ahead, smokers and talk and scream all you want to defend the almighty cigarette, even those who claim not to be addicted. That’s a laugh!
But go elsewhere when you get really sick from a direct or indirect result of your smoking, like a detox place or go into rehab, like plenty of other smokers and addicts.
As the snow has melted the amount of cigarette butts on the ground is vile. That is so thoughtful, just like all the needles and condoms mixed in with all the human garbage.
Selfish society.
I would no more associate with a smoker then I would someone with another form of addiction.
Addicts are selfish people and are takers, not givers.

One fact I knew before watching this video, we all have a terminal disease, it is commonly referred to as life. We will all die one day, even non-smokers. What I learned from this video, use a water bong more often for cigarettes. I also want to try to boil the bong water when used more often, that could be sweet. All the arguments of smokers v. non, whether or not 2nd hand smoke is good for you, really that is nothing but chit chat. Smokers will smoke, non-smokers will preach, if you don’t like either side of the argument, don’t pay attention to the argument. I am not saying it is or is not anyones business, just saying smoking will continue at least for the life time of anyone on this board.

first, smoking the filter is worse then the actual cig, second, nobody smokes in one continuous drag, not to mention, just walking today with the exaust is equaly as bad, as is drinking, running(you’ll barely be able to walk when your older with all the strain on your knees, runners are more likely to have to have knee replacement surgery) eating slowly coats your digestive tract, if you eat white bread you can get a thick enough layer that it can kill you(happend to a friend) hmmm, walking down the street can also kill you, sitting at home doing nothing, going to work. In the end, we’re all gonna die anyway, so whats the point worrying about silly little things like that.
ps:what a waste of cigs D:

Oh my god… you mean by smoking… I could DIE?
OMGOMGOMGOMG
Chill the hell out. We’ll all die from something eventually. In the mean time, for those of you who would like to restrict people’s free will and right to do whatever they want with their own life, try communism: China, North Korea, etc will be glad to have you as a sheep. They’re much more understanding when you try and give away your freedom (although we get better at giving away freedom here in “free” countries all the time).
Seriously, if you want to condemn smoking, stop driving and killing us all with your smog, stop drinking your brain-activity damaging coffee in the morning, stop drinking alcohol, stop watching porn, and then go die. Then we can talk.
Living damages your health. So does smoking.
Oh damn.

Well, about the ones glorifying smoking… it’s pretty much self explanatory.
I mean what kind of person wastes money and life on such a nasty vice? Hello: a probably totally out of shape person with a flabby body, whom probably pants upon going up a flight of stairs, a person who feels better doing what the herd does, an insecure person who HAS TO BE DOING SOMETHING when still, somebody with a sedentary lifestyle or who cannot control their anxiousness, and who needs a phallus in their mouth. Just somebody who doesn’t know any better. obviously somebody who doesn’t care about better habits in life. Translation: A LOSER!!
lets not even MENTION somebody who smokes indoors…
A smoker is obviously an idiot who doesn’t give a shit about their health and life, just as a person who drinks and are out of shape. The meaning of virtuous is probably out of their vocabulary.
