We’re a little behind on the news, but this is certainly one story worth covering. Sera is the lioness to give birth to the first lion cubs in Norway. At the Kristiansand Dyrepark, Sera is the proud mother of four lion cubs: Nala, Lea, Kiara and Akira. They were born in the morning of May 31st, the event being fully covered and broadcasted online. More than two weeks have passed and people are constantly watching Sera and her cubs: they’re either playing, being pampered by their mother or sleeping.

Spacecraft Messenger completed its mission early Tuesday and sent stunning images of planet Mercury back to Earth. CNET’s Kara Tsuboi interviews a NASA planetary scientist about why there’s been so little exploration of the solar system’s smallest planet and what researchers hope to glean from this mission and a planned orbit in 2011.
